and...we're back!

I know I have been ignoring this little space and I miss it. I could blame school but that's also so much fun (and frustrating, challenging etc etc.) that I really can't blame it too much. I always tell everyone how much I love the High Line and that they really must go there if they haven't been. It's the most amazing (free!) public space in NY. I have more to say but I am forgetting right now.

Lena posted photos of some proofs from the book...so exciting!!!

...

It's been one of those weeks, especially the last few days, where all I can articulately say is that I am just in such a funk. I left class on Friday and then decided to stick around and send a few emails from a coffee shop. I left the coffee shop half an hour later only to discover that I left my phone there. I must've been gone for barely 2 mins but when I came back the guy sitting where I was sitting said some girls turned in the phone to the employees who then told me no one returned any phones. I asked the guy again and well, that's what he said. So I lost my phone for a minute or so and then it got stolen, sort of. We are both sick with a cold/flu this weekend, resting up and doing lots of homework (me!). I should be working on several projects right now but the flu makes it harder to focus and finish.

canoeing in vermont and other things

We went down a stream in a canoe, constantly brushing along the overgrown edges, running into many many bushes of different sorts of berries. so so nice.

And some fun news...

The new book from Lines and Shapes is Brooklyn Diary, curated by Lena Corwin. I have photos in the book and I am so excited to see the other artists' studios and work. Lena posted some of the photos on her blog and I can't wait to see the rest. The book comes out on 10/11 and it's available for pre-order now (at a discounted price!) and you can get it here.

maple etc.

Aaaah Vermont! It was so beautiful up there...the light was perfect, the crisp early fall air, delicious maple syrup covered breakfast every morning and the little peeks of fall colors in a few trees. I was coloring the hillsides and forests with my imagination trying to see how much more stunning everything will look when the colors peak. We also tried to use the old medium format camera but someone had loaded film in it for us when we were in India. And now I don't know whether it's color or b/w film so I am hoping the photo store guy can find out somehow.

vermont 1

We spent the most amazing 3 days in Woodstock, Vermont, thanks to Ashley and Aron's recent Vermont travelogue. I was convinced the minute I read about their trip and saw the beautiful photos and before I finished reading the post, we started looking for a place to stay in Woodstock. I have a few photos to share and I want to start with these of the Quechee gorge. I love looking at that first photo and you can see it big here.

And I should also mention that I take all of Ashley and Aron's suggestions on their blog pretty seriously because they always look like they are having such a fabulous time!

summer flowers

The photos above are from two different Saipua weddings at The Cloisters. Interning at Saipua and working with some really amazing girls at that beautiful studio had to have been the highlight of this summer. I miss it already. I look back and I am in awe thinking that I worked around those magical flowers.

The flowers and cakes(!!!) above were arranged by Sarah, Amy and all the other crazy talented peoples at Saipua. Some of them have blogs that are now my favorite reads...Sarah, Amy, Suzanne. And others are very cool too...Nicolette, Amy F, Joelle, Kait, Nea, Eric! Hi!
